At the end of 2019, I was feeling burnt out from the pace of the film industry. Having recently discovered that I was neurodivergent, I knew something would need to shift .

The stasis brought on by the pandemic created an opportunity to reevaluate my career, and I was reminded of the reason I wanted to be in filmmaking, which is to tell stories. But the pace of the industry left me little time to write anything.

In the fall of 2020, I began a creative writing journey which brought me to Vancouver Island University with a career goal of writing and illustrating my own comics and memoirs.
